My small rhom has a basic small white lump on his tail. What is this it makes me catious, because I've tried quite a few ways of treating it.

I think it may be white nodule. If it is it says to remove manually. Well I'm very edgy on handling fish by hand. Is it safe to let him be?

If it's lymphocystis than you can just leave it and hope it goes into remission. It is a virus and there is no treatment for it. Depending on the size of the grownth, you can try to physically remove it by scraping it off with your fingernail or cutting it off (if it's near the tip) but you risk the chance of infection.
