My smallest reds right eye looks almost like it is underdeveloped the pupil in it is not as big as the other side or as much black as any of the others. Not that he gets picked on all the time or doesn't eat. I was just wondering if there was something common among them or if I have some weird anomaly. Thanks to anyone that replies.

Yeah.. some Piranhas come with disabilities. The biggest RB I have has a lazy eye. And I think Snow has a one eyed P.

yep got myself a one-eyed P and its doing more than fine. Don't worry it should still thrive

Hi.My juvie rbp's developed cloudy eye quite a while ago.I medicated them and it cleared up on all of them but one.On "Chomp's" right eye there is still a tiny bit of cloudyness.You can tell he can't see out of it very well cause he sits in the tank with his bad eye towards the glass so his tankmates can't blindside him.He also does not eat as agressively as all the other P's.It has not been a problem,he's doin fine but he is not growing as fast as his tankmates.

Cloudy eyes are also often caused by high ammonia levels in the tank (ie. ammonia burn). Check your perimeters, and take appropriate measures (like a large waterchange, if necessary) is my advise...
And on Franks OPEFE website you'll find a page about piranha's deformities which you might find interesting (don't know the exact address, though).

thanks for your input. my ammonya levels are fine. well don't really knowwhat it is so i guess i will not worry and just let him live his life like nothing is wrong.

If he seems to be ok, and eating and geting along in his tank just like the rest, then maybe he is ok?
