I currently have them in a 20 gallon tank but im moving them into a 80 gallon as soon as they outgrow the 20 gallon... i feed them guppies and red rose minnons but they dont seem to go at the live food... they nip and pick at there fins but no full blown attacks... i was just wondering if in time they will start getting more vicious towards live prey... thanks

I'm no expert, but I did notice when mine were in a smaller tank they were very shy to hunt when anyone was around....so I never really saw too much. But, feeders would eventually disappear. Also, after I put them in a bigger tank they began to get real aggressive in attacking feeders, and a lot less shy in general (not AS skiddish). They will really swarm now.

Try some blood worms too. Everything seems to love those, but my Ps like them alive best.....seem to only like stuff that moves. I give them lives ones and they go nuts. Pre frozen ones and they only hit them as they are sinking, and an occasional pick at the ones on the deck.

baby P's of that species (RBP) i am assuming are fin nippers and scale eaters...this is how they survive youth in the wild ... they blend in with the other similar memevber of its family like tetras and eat at fins and scales which are rapidly regenerated... they wont be full pledge attackers untill tehy outgrow there chilhood

they have been in the tank for about 3 weeks... they arent really shy at all and they seem to be fin nippers... the only time i see them attack a live fish is when the fish is like half dead... my rbp's seem to be bastards cause they pick on a feeder until almost all its fins are gone and then as soon as that fish has a hard time moving thats when they attack him... but thanks for all the replies it was really helpful
