well my lps had this stuff called ALGONE im gonna try it,ill keep every one posted to see how it works.it says will get rid of bacteria bloom ,well we will see. :rockon:

Bacteria blooms, especially in a new aquarium, come and go on their own. It's not necsessary to add chemicals to your tank to put them down.

it's not a chemical. it's a pouch thingy that you stick inyour filter and it's suppose to absorb chemicals that cause blooms. like algae, it would remove nutrients.
the problem with this is that if you don't change it, the pouch starts to smell realllly bad. the downsize, it supposed to be changed every 2 weeks, which costs a lot of money!

oh yea, i don't think it removes bacteria blooms, that's causedd by something else.. not really sure about this though. algone should be used to control algae, and remove chemicals like nitrate/nitrite and ammonia

i meant excess nutrients. more nutrients + light = more algae.. just slows the growth of algae. there will always be nutrients in a tank.iwantapiranha said:

http://www.algone.com/ is my source. good product IMO. you don't notice when you have it in. but as soon as you stop using it you will realize it how much it helps.
