They grow very slow so if your not willing to hold on to it until it gets large then don't get a baby rhom get a large 10"+ rhom.

If you buy one at 10 inches it will probably never get even close to the 18 inch mark, the large rohms in captivity were all imported at that size...I wouldnt be suprised if one reached 2 feet, but at that size it is almost impossible to ship them due to the amount of waste produced during travel. You wouldnt be dissapointed with a 10-12 inch rohm though

I also recommend getting one that is already large. If you can afford it. Its pretty pricey for the fish and tank. I don't even know of anybody that has raised a black from 3in to 10in.
