Hello,

How do you remove small scratches from an acrylic tank? I have heard that you cannot use windex to clean the acrylic cause it will cause it to haze, some chemical reaction with ammonia?

Anyway, i bought a used 180gallon tank and it needs a good polishing. I went to the LFS and they sell this "scrach remover kit" for $40.00 and it has some sandpaper, liquid stuff, and some clothes. Is it worth it?

I am worried that if i use sandpaper i might cause more scratches and cant remove them. so want to hear if anybody tried it and what you guys use. also will these kits remove haze?

thanks in advance

Hi Nate,

It doesnt have to be underwater because the tank is not filled right now.

i have heard of people using orbital (car buffer) type setups and polishing there tanks with it.

ANY advice is appreciated, the haze and light scratches are driving me nuts.
