I just got my 150 Gallon tank today guys! I am going to start cycling it, and was just wondering how many Rb's I should put in there? I have 5 babies right now. Thanks

I am going to have to agree. I would go with 9 rbp or 7 caribe. Sounds like you will have an awesome tank man! Good Luck.MPower said:I say 8-10 will be fine. Its up too on how many you want.
Pygocentrus Cariba looks very much like the more common redbelly (P. Nattereri), but it has a very distinct dark humeral spot (ie. just behind the gill plate), see below:Atlanta Braves Baby! said:what are these Caribas that everyone is saying i should put in? Sorry I don't know all the differnt kinds of piranhas yet. If I put 9 rbs in there how many Caribas should I also put in?

Good filtration needed in this case!

In general, cariba seem to be a bit more territorial/agressive than redbellies, and therefore need a bit more room per fish: that's why people advise either 8-10 reds, or about 7 cariba.
If you decide to get 9 reds, I personally wouldn't add cariba....
