just wondering if a high PH shift harms the bacteria in wet/dry filters. I recently did a large water change and my PH shifted from 6.0 to 6.8.

Hey a_plus1234, I don't think you will have a problem with the nitrifying bacteria. But if you have fish they might experience a pH shock.

7.0 out of the tap. I had to do a large water change because I fed them a 9" smelt fish that got a bit too messy.
