I was sitting here at the computer and I had my finger up against the glass and he tried biting through the glass to get at me like 3 times. LOL Mind you the lights were off in the room besides the computer and the TV. I just want himt o get really bold when the lights are on. How can I do that????

Just ask him

I don't know where the tank is located, but many people will say that positioning the tank in a high traffic area will improve the piranha's boldness. Also, spending a lot of time in front of the tank, and moving your finger in front of it, will 'force' the piranha to get used to you faster, and not shy away when you point fingers at him... Adding some dither fish can help making it more active as well, just like upping the water temp a little.

It took 5 months for my old REDs to get accustom to my presence. Now Im in the proccess in doing it with my new ones! They just need more time seeing you around their tank.

What'd you do to get him mean with the lights off?
If I put some feeders in the tank with him, he will not come out from behind his bogwood. not to really chase them. I have seen them sit right in front of his mouth and he still wouldnt attack. But as soon as the room is dark he comes out from behind the bogwood and roams the tank as if there isnt a problem. I dont even turn his tank light on anymore.

If I went to class and left his tank light on, came back from class and walked in the room...... he would see me.... freeze..... and then swim behind his bogwood. When all the lights are out I can coem up to the tank and pout my face against it almost and he will just sit there and stare at me. He always stares at me when I am at the computer. I think he wants to het me......

My golds tank use to be next to my bed. Whenever the lights were off and the only light was the tv, i would put my finger against the side of the glass and he would attack it. But when the lights in the room were on, he wouldent even eat in front of me

I've got a 4 inch spilo cf and he attacked my finger through the glass a few weeks ago. Like your fish, he is more bold when the room lights are out. Maybe some more time will do the trick.

"Also, spending a lot of time in front of the tank, and moving your finger in front of it, will 'force' the piranha to get used to you faster, and not shy away when you point fingers at him."

Sounds like a good idea.

I would just leave the lights on and then do what you are doing and eventually he will do the same thing.

you could also try adding a timer to your light so it comes on/off at the same time every day and the spoli will get used to it i have done this with my reds as well as most other stuff with high traffic area and spending time with them that was advised also
