ok here is the pic of the fish i was told is a "gibbus"....... it has red eyes like a rhom tho and is about 5-5.5 inches in size........ hard to see in the pics but they are there and has a black humeral spot most of the time too....... but seems to be a bit yellwo so maybe a gold rhom? or gold spilo? or is it really a gibbus?

please try and help as best you guys can

gold spilo's get red eyes? i cant get a good pic of his eye because my cam takes away the red eye on it..... but it has red eyes in there somewhere and do spilo's get a blakc humeral spot like that?

that looks like alot of gold spilos i've seen. if it is, it's a beautiful specimen. if it somehow turns out to be a rhom, then really beautiful specimen.

if you look closely it has an unjury almost like a bite mark on its chest area near the pectoral fins........ so i have been adding aquarium salt to try and help heal him up

that wound will heal up within a week if he's healthy. salt and a water change and a bite to eat and he'll be sound as a pound. i think he's going to be a real looker once the wound and the fins are 100%.

I wouldn't venture a guess on the fish. But I'm having doubts it is an S. spilopleura. Some of the features common (ie; humeral spot and midline band) are not apparent. Looks more like S. maculatus. Try for a better photo.

soooooooooooooo is this rare or what? i paid 59.99 cdn for him is that a good price? and what are some perks about this kind? cause they told me it was a gibbus or silver scaled piranha it was marked on the sticker as......
