My new O is doing the same thing, he spits everything out expect freezed dried baby shrimp. I believe the little guy was being feed guppies, which I won't use unless I quarantine or breed and plus I'm currently out. Anyways, I'd ask the pet store what they were feeding them like rchan suggested, and go from there. I'd also watch for signs of internal parasites.
