is there any way to revent food behind the filter? my food always get caught behind the flow part and just stays there

what food are you useing? coz all the food i feed (apart from shrimp) sinks strait to the bottom.

You can set you penguin power head to a stronger seeting or mov it next to the filter dawg.

or you can try feeding them a fish based diet like catfish hunks shrimp, and whole smelt all of which sink to the botom. i am really suprised your p's accept pellets.

try feedig white fish like white bait, brine shrimp as said above catfish smelt.

you need a gushing power head with the output near the water surface so the food will always be pushed by the flow to the other end of the tank where the P's can easily get it. i also use floting pellets as primary feeds for my reds.

I do not bother with it - eventually it'll break down to pieces small enough to be sucked up by the filter. A few small pieces of food decaying behind a filter certainly won't pose a threat to fish in a healthy tank environment (cycled, clean water, well-balanced, etc.).
