do it up....my buddy has a 125 hes getting the fx5 after x-mas, and hes still keeping his aqua clear 500 (i think dont quote me) its the one rated for 75gallons....hes gonna have that and the fx5 at the same time, and hes got a under gravel filter...thats nuts

yeah, The FX5 would be the only filter you would need on a 125. They pump close to 1000 gph.

hey guys. just curious. would one fluval fx5 be enough for a 125g tank????

For water circulation power (gph) it is definitely enough even for Serras.
But for bio filtration power (capacity of bio media) it is fine for 3 big reds, not more, in a 125 g tank.

dude, your set for LIFE!
maybe throw in a canister if you are looking into a huge bio-load.

it's set at 924 U.S. Gal./H.... able to do a 400 gallon tank... so that is definatly big enough
i am getting 1 of those for my 260 i am building
