This is the first body wound I have experienced in my tank. I dont know who did it but I have my suspicions. I know most will probably say it was the new piraya but he is very mellow, I think it was one of the terns, they are always chasing the others away. This is the first bite of any kind, which I found interesting, I have seen no fin nips or any serious aggression, just a lot of chasing and bumping.

I am not worried about it, these things can happen. My temp is 80-82 and I have no plan to lower it. It could actually have happened when I fed them, I noticed it after, and it was a wild show. There is no individual that gets picked on, it is random acts of aggression and territorial disputes so I am sure he will be fine.
I just thought I would share because I only added the new guys on saturday and noticed this wound on monday night. The only problem I see is that the skin is folded back and sticking out about 1/4" creating a tab on his side. I dont want the others to get any ideas about ripping it off. I was at a bucks/spurs game last night so I didnt get to check on him. I counted them to make sure he was there, but I did not see his side.

I hope they can settle their differences
I don't think they can settle it with words, though

It's pretty probable it happened during feeding time: my reds never injure each other (apart from an occasional ripped fin, but that's all). The only more serious injury I ever seen with my fish was a bitten off lip, and that also happened in a feeding frenzy. I healed within two weeks.
This injury looks even more harmless to me...

Hello, any suggestions on seperating my 6 piranhas. I'm moving 4 out of a 33g tank and putting them in an 86g. They are about 2 inches each. I plan to feed them well before the move since i have some other fish in the 86 that will hopefully survive. ha

I've done my ph and ammonia test, and the new tank is fine, but the 33g is showing high ammonia and low ph, but still at an OK level, should i have the new tank at the same level, this would obvioulsy be a shock to the p's if i put them in without the test being the same, right ?

help

check my new tank thats ready and waiting for the p's, any suggestions on the bubbles? good/bad ?

Troy, you might want to make a "new topic" with your questions. YOu'll get more and better replies than posting it on someone elses thread.

Whoops.. I forgot!!
Grosse, Nice Ps mayn!!
Honestly, I would go with the folks to try and keep a watchfull eye on on him. When I had my RBs before, one had an open wound near the back area which I didnt take no mind. All seemed fine and not one RB picked on him. Until one morn when the only thing that was left of him was his head.
Gotta love these guys.. but NEVER trust 'em.
