Alright, I've had a Penguin 125 on the back of my 30 gallon for like 2 months now trying to get the biowheel nice and cultured. I woke up the morning to find that sometime during the night (or possibly the day before, since I wasn't here) my filter went wunky and just stopped for no reason. My biowheel is dry as a bone. Thankfully I have an undergravel filter in there too so I wasn't completely without filtration, but I am noticing some cloudiness starting to form. My question is what should I do about the biowheel? If I start the same one up again will the cultured wheel be magically revived or should I just start a new one from scratch because this one's clogged with dead bacteria? I'm going to bed now, but I look forward to waking up and reading the veritable plethora of knowledge that's sure to be spilled upon me like a pot of boiling water.

You can run the old one. I amagine that the bottom half is still wet. But anyways Your ugf will have bacteria for your filter. I whouldn't worry.
