all of a sudden my filter starts to make this aweful noise....what is it???help!
how long do i have b4 my fish will die?do i need a motor...like...????f*ck!

AC500...and i have sand?could that e the prob?

yeah its probably sand in the motor check inside

If its the sand causing it, try unplugging and plugging it back in.

Take ur filter off the tank, dump the water in the tank. Take the motor off the filter, it simply twists off. Go wash it with water and clean the impellor out. If this doesnt fix it, just buya new motor, they arnt too expensive, a WHOLE lot cheaper than buying an entire new filter.

i had the same problem, itis like a terrible loud grindind noise right?

take it of the tank take out the tube and look inside where the prop is,if something id stuck in there get a needle nose and pull it out, i had a chunk of fake plant that somehow got past the intake screen. if after this it still makes noise you probably got some sand in the motor.

hahah thanx alot ....i had to go buy a new fan thingy that hooks to the motor...it seems to be working fine now
thx alot guys...n i also got rid of the sand :rasp:
ne ways..i will post pics l8r on...but its comming along!
