I ordered a brandti from ron at
http://www.fishpost.com i had him Fedex them to my house b/c the
nearest airport is two hours away from me. Well as luck would have
it my brandti arrived doa fed ex wined, bitched, complained, and blamed
the death on everything but them selves. So i shipped ron some
more money to ship it again only this time i got off my ass and
drove 2 hours to the airport the plane left baltimore at 12:25
and should have arrived at KCI at 220 but again as luck would
have it the plane b/c of weather was two hours late and b/c of
road conditions it took me 4 hours to drive back home. it was
snowing so hard I couldnt see 5 foot in front of my truck. So
after what seemed like for ever i final made it back home and
b/c of rons pro shipping abilitys my brandti was alive and to
my surprise he threw in a gold spilo for me "What a Guy"
and i must add that he is meaner than hell.

Well if you dont get anything from this post remember one thing
if your going to order fish get it shipped airborne and order from
Ron

you can take the chance but if i were you id just drive its
alot less strenious on the fish and you have a better chance
of it surviving that way.

I had a simalar experince with fed ex, the truck had gotten there and the guy starts walking up, and he's juggling the box flipping it around and i went out to get it from him, and he says i think it's melting?

I said It's a fish, and it's pretty expensive, anyways i opened it up and found the styrofoam all crushed (Really bad) and the heat packs were all wet, so they weren't working the water temp was 57 degrees,

Thanks to rons good shipping , My big piraya made the hell journey.
By the way, good enginuity on the container Ron.
And i will never use fed ex again.

I think you taking a chance with any carrier. I had a bad experience with airborne. When I tracked the package (8" yellow Natt) it said they dropped of off at my door. I am home and I got nothing. Through numerous calls, trying to figure out where they left my fish, I even drove all over my neighborhood looking for him, the dude comes strutting up with my fish like nothing happened. The corner of the package was somewhat bashed in so the styrofoam was cracked, letting out a lot of the heat. It was a 3 hours that I had no idea what was going on. Also, Airborne uses contracted delivery people so they had a very tough time contacting the driver.
The good news, they forgot to charge me!!!!

I just think it is all a crapshoot. I will continue to order online, but I will also expect to have problems every once in a while with shipping companies.

Hey everyone,

Just want to say, Brandon kept his cool, worked with me, helped me with the loss of the first fish and volunteered to help on the second fish shipping. He is a stand-up guy.

As far as Fedex goes, we have some good experiences with them as well, but if I had to recommend to people, use Airfreight, that is what he meant, not Airborne Express.

You will save a little bit of money. but most important the fish will travel much better and safer. It is probably worth the time.

I think Air Cargo actually cost about $15 more usually, but I would gladly pay that than have to deal with a screwed up shipment through Fedex or Airborne Express especially. Folks lets face it you are already spending $55+ to have a fish shipped whats an extra $15 to nearly ensure a safe trip for your new fish
