That sucks. I have several older models with the viewing window and flow control. A couple things I find annoying with the older model is that it takes a while to prime and sometimes if the impeller is not sitting right its noisy it does not keep a good suction when the water level decreases below the first extension on the input side.
Makes me wonder if they fixed any of these problems.
