actually many of the P species prefer more acidic waters but most are very hardy and can adapt as long as the prameters are within range. As for the driftwood it is known to slightly lower pH over aa slow and steady course. Nothing devastating and in fact would be a good reccomendation for deccor to add in your tank. Just monitor you water parameters on a scheduled basis and you will be ok. :
