Hi i have read the DIY in the info section. We use a wood burner and I was stocking the fire when I noticed a cool looking peice of wood. Well I want to make it driftwood and want to make it safe for my tank. I dont really want to use bleech. I am currently letting it soak in a tub thingy with the hottest water my faucet could produce. I could boil some water over and over again but that would take forever i think. If I have to use bleech I will. It is large and I think it will take alot to boil enough water for the tub. The water from my faucet is really hot but I dont know what temp I dont have a thermometer that will go over or up to 160 degree's. It is winter here so I was going to stick it near are wood burner so the heat from it could dry it. Well anyway I am just letting it soak now. Any info will help.

Well I let is soak over night but one of my peices is kinda soft. I broke off all the soft stuff that would come off. I was wondering if I should use it seeing as I dont want it to turn to mush. I am not sure if it will but I want to be safe. Is there a way to tell if it is going to turn to mush?? thx for any help
