sicentificly I belive the difference is a special set of teeth that one species has that the other dosen't.I wish I know more, im just trying to remember what frank said.other than that you have to look at the shape of the fish.

I would have to say shape as the best thing to aesily describe the different features bewteen Pygos and Serras. Pygos have a close oval shape, while Serras have high, or some say lumpy, backs.

I meant to discuss this with you regarding the ectopterygoid teeth. These are teeth that sit inside the roof of the mouth. Depending on non-Pygocentrus species or non-Pygopristis, there is usually 2 to 6 tiny teeth
