I am ordering some java fern, bolbitus heudelotii, and anubias from aquatic plant depot. What is the best way to clean the plants before putting them in the tank in case they are carrying parasites, etc?
thanks.

I usually only treat for snails( depending on which tank I am putting them in). First I rinse each plant in a bucket of water from any dirt/soil/potting, especially around the roots( take care not to damage). I then make a snail dip using snailacide and treat each plant. But most anti-snail products don't target the eggs, just the snails. So I usually then do a once over to remove any eggs.

You can use the afformention method with bleach (1 cup bleach,20 cups water) and then traet the pants with water with A LOT of anticlorine.

A more natural way is to put your plants fir a couple of days in a tank with clown loaches! They will eat every single snail!!!!
