Depends on the book you read! But that's not too bad a guess! Problem is there are different 'wild' populations of carpintis and there are hybrids in the hobby (and maybe in the wild) of carpintis and cyanoguattatum.

Are carpinte cichlids known for being very agressive? I just got a baby to put in my baby cichlid tank and it's punking my baby jack dempsey who's bigger than it. I didn't expect this to happen, is it because carpintes are nasty?
