Just wondering how many of us are gonna go deaf soon.

So far I've got 2 12" alpine type r's in a ported bassworx box, pushed by a JL 500/1 sub amp, and a alpine cda 7875 deck, all on factory component chrysler speakers. Hitting 143-144 DB, not very much, but still 13 DB louder than a harrier jet taking off


I bought a 91 daytona yesterday, that one is going to get a complete sony system with those new pentagonal subs.

Are you an installer, or do you sell?

Also, I can't find anybody that knows to much about alpine subwoofers, how many watts should I run to the type r's? they are dual voice coil and say 1200 max on the box. would 1000 watts per sub be to much?

I'm thinking that theres gonna be some octogonal subs coming soon, they got every other kind, so why not?

The sony pentagons look and sound good, as long as you dont turn them up, cause they'll blow


This guy I knwo from crystal beach ontario has 12 12" type r's, pheonix gold amps (2500 watts a piece) and is hitting 161. all in a mazda b2200 extended cab truck, lowered on air ride, NOS, and a 5 liter mustang engine, pics will be here soon hopefully.
