I made my red bellies a jello cube of beef heart, chicken, shrimp, garlic, some shrimp vitamine pellets i got at the LFS and some cod. I dropped my first piece in to watch them make a bloody mess. They take a bite of it and then spit it all over the place. There are little pieces of meet all over. Im going to have to do a water change after everytime i feed them. Why are the spitting it out like this do they not like it or something?

Try freezing the gel cubes, and then thawing them right before feeding. That helps a bit for me. No idea why that makes a difference.

But either way, the cubes will probably make a bit of a mess. That's why I suggest people make a small batch at first to test whether gel cubes are convenient for them or not.
