i read that they are just fin nippers and aren't really all that agressive.
i love the look of them and want some babies. but a few questions

1) does any one have pics of them at a large size
2) hwo big do they get?
3) can they shoal?
4) any other bits of information i need to know b4 i order??

i want to order them but if they aren't really that badd of a fish then maybe i'll just wait untill i can get a few terns or something...

Terns are expensive. Go with a shoal of 3 Caribe, 2 Reds and 1 Tern. That would be cool. I am sticking with a species tank ( Reds ). Good luck EMJAY.

I have a gold spilo about 6". there are pics of him on the pic forum. Yup, they mostly are fin nippers, mine will eat entire feeders if they are reallly small but it takes him days sometimes before actually attacking the feeder. THey definetly arent badass as far as feeding goes, but they do look really cool. but one thing i noticed is they are not scared at all of other fish. I put a huge 10" oscar in with him that was twice his thickness and he started biting the oscars tail within seconds, taking tiny chunks out of it.

mine is the same way. it will kill a flowerhorn many times its size, but will leave alone feeders for a couple days. they always start eating from the fins.
