Im syked, just bought my first green iguana, I got a juvi so I could hopefully train him. Only been in his home for a few hours and already has a kill, a mealworm. Planning on getting more not untill I build a mutiple cage to house a few of them.

Since Im new to the reptile "thingy" and not sure of other species, I was wondering if anyone who has had iguanas has any advice. Thanx in advance.

Should read big assed cage . Make sure to check our Melissa Kaplan's stuff on the Green Iguana.I think most people shoud be required to answer a skill testing question before being allowed to purchase one of these.

Make sure you read about MBD regarding proper feeding and lighting requirements too.

Good Luck,

My parents bought one; I didnt like it at all personally. We eventually gave it away to a friend. This friend let the iguana roam his house cage-free 24/7. It developed into a pretty personable creature.

yeah you need to post pics and give him lots of attention, I was going to get one that was 5ft but I didn't want to take care of it all the time so I decided not to and when I held him he scratched the hell out of my arms and face, train yours and give him a big cage and show him off.

Iggy's are cool but most people dont have a clue what they are getting into when they buy them, they can be a handful when full grown. I love reptiles,I have had quite a few over the past 10 yrs but big snakes are my favorite
here is a link to my collection My Webpage

Not all are mine, the venomous are someone elses and the gator is the neighbors
