i have to write a research paper for college and i am looking for some statistics and some interesting info on piranhas!!!.... if anyone can suggest a good book or website i would be very appreciative!!! thanks everyone

Statistics on what? If you mean by how many people piranhas in general have killed, theres no record of them doing so.

Or if you mean how many elephants have been involved in a piranha attack, there's no record of that happening.


Don't rely on books. Mine says that an elongatus is not dangerous to humans, it makes the same claim with brandtii. Of course they may not be in the wild, but I didn't buy the book to study fish in their natural habitat.

Yur best bet is check out OPEFE.. or PM Frank for more indepth answers.
I have a book, Piranhas Fact and Fiction; published 11 years ago. Way too old and info on species are off and classified in the wrong group.
