I go by the addage, If I can build it, then it's worth a try. I was asking about powerheads on the equipment forum and everyone was on the same page with yes, so here's my question, is it possible to build one from scratch. My dad is a retired electrician/capenter and is handy to have around so any ideas or plans for one would rock! Thanks

I say no. Even tho your dads an electrician, the risk of not having it sealed properly could cause major damages not only to you and your fish, but your house as well. Just leave it to the pros, besides they dont cost an arm and a leg.
