Has anyone ever missed their court date for a speeding ticket (obviously forgetting to pay the fine also)? What happens?

I never missed one surprisingly but my mom has, there will be a warrent out for your arrest, contact them and make up a good excuse way you were not there and get anouther court date, Your fine mite be raised. Hope this helps x

I say make a good one up though and contact them before they contact you, My mom contacted them and they told her she was luckey there was going to be a warrent out for her but that is New York I dont no how it would be where you live but probably the same, Good luck x

just come up with a family emergency, but as of right now you will have a local warrant. if for any reason you are stopped you will go to jail and need to be bonded out. any emergency will do they do not do any extensive checking on the reason.

I got a speeding ticket too. Just turn yourself in and pay the fees. You do not want to get pulled over and have a bench warrent for you. They will take you to jail.

Call the court clerk and tell them the truth. They will reschedule to another court date and may even give you your liscense untill the court date and clear up the bench warrant. I forget what the paper is called but even if you get pulled over again, the cop cant take you to jail cause on your paper it will have your new court date. The same happened to a few friends of mine, let me ask around for better info for you.

yes ,this happened to me last year.i showed up and just told them that i missed read the date of the court trial.they reissued a new date..you have to fixs this as soon as possible they put a bench warrant on you for no show

.and if this is your first time you can just tell the cleck you want to go to driving school.in my case i took the cop too court and i won..yippy..races cop..anyways fixs it soon.

also today was your court date just show up tommorrow and say your had your date confused.

yeah my last ticket I was clocked going 48 over and there was no way I was going to be able to fight that one... I just paid the damn ticket and dont speed too much anymore, damn hill coming up over a hill and then they were coming the other way, slowed down as much as I could, I was going even faster but O well...

down here in VA, it depends on what you mean by 'speeding ticket'....was it aggressive? reckless? or just a speeding misdemeanor?....in any case, you wouldn't get a warrant for your arrest, they'll send you a bill
