I voted average because they are good for weekly wipedowns before the algae becomes a problem, but you must also be carefull because its easy to accidentally scratch the tank if sand or gravel get caught inbetween it.

Not so good for stubborn harder algae thats been sitting, preventitive wipedowns and blades for the stubborn algae are best.

Over all not a bad product though and works if used carefully.

^^ Yeah, my spilo's tank has scratches all over it from sand getting into the thing.

Once ya get sand in it, it's almost impossible to get it out, even with a hard blast of water.
Other'n that, they're great.

If ya got gravel insteada sand... they're perfect!

A rough sponge is fine for weekly wipedowns but for the stubborn stuff this is the best product out there.
Comes in hand held or extended for larger tanks.

The yellow with metal blade makes quick work of the worst algae but the red plastic one is also good even on existing scratches that fill with algae.

Order online or pick one up at big als
