Why are my Red Bellies constantly fighting. I have 3 4 inch RBs in a 60 gallon tank. They keep nipping at each others sides and now ones scales are all turned up and falling off and look damaged what is going on and is this normal and are they just playing or what? They have been doing it ever since the were half inch big but never have i seen them damage each other?

a jumbo shrimp every second day and then 6 tubifix worm cubes every other day.

i would feed them at least once a day ,maybe try twice a day and see how much they eat and to see there eating habits that should do the trick and what kind of decor do you have in the tank ,like plants wood and such

if you have some sort of decor in the tank they could be fighting over territory.
