I started two new tanks and did them with sand this time instead of gravel. I rinsed the sand before putting it into the tanks but the water is still remaining pretty cloudy. I started my filters to try and remove some of the cloud but i cant tell if its working. Will this problem go away or is there something i should do?

Ya it may take up to three days to clear up if you didnt clean good enough. The rule is when you think its clean then clean it five more times then five more times then ten more times then your done. Thats stuffs really dusty but it will settle and it will all be fine you will just have to wait it out. Good luck

as stated before, once you think its clean, clean it again twice.
sand is a pain in the rear to clean!!!!!!

with proper filtration, your tank should be clear with 2 to 3 days!!!!
make sure to clean your filters after that as well

I am also in the process of a fishless cycle. So once the tank does clear what should i wash off? I dont want to wash away any of the bacteria. Should i just rinse the carbon cartridge and leave the bio cartridge alone?
