Is this to much for a 100g long? If so what would be better?

it depends on what you mean by too much.. its not going to blast the water out the other side of the tank but it will make a really nice current.

i have a 802 in my 55, its alot of current but my rohm seems to be pretty active so i guess its good, there are areas in the tank here he isnt getting blown around and he does swim and play aournd going in and out of the current so i guess he likes it, and and keeps stuff from settling on the bottom so the filters can clean it up.. also if im not mistaken you can adjust the flow on those alittle..

definitely not too much. You will find the main blast will not even reach halfway across the tank. But like nismo driver says it will give a bit more welcome current to p's. Dead spots of current or powerhead on a timer may be an idea though. they are real strong swimmers but everybody needs to chill now and again!
