Hi I usually unthaw some shrimp, Catfish, Smelt and feed it to my p's but they usually dont eat it all I was wondering if I could Stick the rest of the uneaten food in my fridge till later in the day to feed. It would be for approx like 8-12 hours in the fridge. I feed them twice a day. Thanks for any help.

You could always cut the frozen bit in half or however much they eat.

AS long as you haven't scooped the remains back out of the tank water and just cut it in half, or whatever, when its thawed it will be fine. For that short amount of time. I think you will be able to treat it like our food and it'll be good for around 24 hours after thawing. Not positive but I would have thought so.

i found out that its best to keep them a little hungry, that way they will eat most if all of what you put in the tank for food. i would do like what Mellor44 said, cut the servings in half. also i noticed with my p's that they want fresh food and not too much of left overs. if some fish are left in the fridge for too long after thawing, they won't even look at it which kinda pisses me off that i spent all that money on them and they don't eat it. FYI: i use black water extract in my 75 and my 55 and it seems like the fish are more active and showing their colors more, it contains vitamins and nutrients from peat moss. has anybody else used this stuff before because it seems to work great if you don't mind your water in the tank being a little darker.
