I just got 2 small p's the seller said is Piraya ...size 2,5 inch are they have black dot on his body ....? mine has it ....

if the p has red or orange on its bottom and a black spot on the side it is probably a caribe. a pic would help thouhg. i dont have a pic of baby piraya but i believe in the pic and vid forum there is pics of baby piraya

I just got a small 3-4 inch piraya from george that has a small humeral spot. Its faint, but its present. If the spot is very dark, then its probably a cariba.

a pic would be most helpful, but occasionaly other pygos aside from caribes show humeral spots.

Depends on where it was caught (if it's wild-caught), because Super Reds are a local variety of P. nattereri.
No matter how red or what pattern it has, if it's not collected in Northern Brazil or Peru, it's no Super Red...
Only the previous owner might be able to tell where it's from.
