Would anybody put a piranha in a 55g cube24x24x24. Is there any piranha that would do ok in a tank with these deminsions? I really like cube tank and think it would be pretty cool.

Most people would tell you that Ps need more swimming room, which a rectangular shaped tank would be more ideal. But for a cube shape tank, a breeding pair or a lone Serra would also be sufficient. It may not have the swimming space compared to the dimensions of a 55gal, but would definately give enough room.

Yeah, i'd get a lone serra in there. One that only reaches 6" TL will be fine in there. Like your thinking not ideal but its still not bad gallonage!

I agree - the tank doesn't support fish much bigger than 6-8".
If upgrading in the future is an option, you can keep just about any solitary species in there for a good while - except Elongs and Manny's, I'd say, as they are very active, fast swimming fish that need more swimming room than a 24x24" tank can offer.
