YOu can cheat all you want!! But its up to your fish to comply. You've heard about all the rules regarding 1 P per 20 gal. Its basically up to you, but theres never a guarantee. Your best bet is sticking a Serra in there.

i have two reds in a 30 right now and they are doing great, they are pretty big and i am just waiting for my new tank to finish cycling..... i guess it depends on the fish
It might work, it might not work. It didn't work for me.
Yepps.. it all depends on the individual fish. Good Luck Shiznick!! The only thing I can really tell you is to bring your temp down to try to make 'em less aggressive towards each other. Please keep us posted!!!

as frank said, the rule of 20g per fish is as old as a wise tale. there isnt a proven fact that it should be 20g per fish. but it is a good recommendation for all fish. but you dont have to follow it. listen to rhomzilla. he knows what god and bad for your fish.

ok whats a serra and where do I find one??
A Serra is a catagorized group of piranhas which consists of S. Rhom, S. Spilo, S. Medinai..etc They're solitary fish that usually cannot be with any other of its kind or another fish.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong..

damn I just sold a gold spilo because I didn't think I had enough room. that sux. You really think I could get two in there??

Don't rhombeus grow to big to be in a 29g. on preditoryfish.com, I heard that they get to be 18". that won't do in a 29g.

I'll post a poll in here.

Rhoms grow very slow, but you are correct that they get way too big for a 29. A gold will also have a hard time living in a 29 for life.
Very true!!! They will eventually get too big for your 29 gal. But that wont happen for yrs. I've had both my Rhoms in a 30 gal and it doesnt even seem like they've gotten bigger.. not even a centimeter!!

ALSO:

SERRA: REFERS TO THE GENUS SERRASALMUS OR SERRASALMINEA GROUP. SHORT FOR A LATIN SCIENTIFIC NAME.
EX. SERRASALMUS SPILOPLEURA (GOLD SPILO)

NOT UNLIKE:

PYGO: PYGOCENTRUS NATTERRERI (RED BELLY)

pardon the spelling.
