Quick question optimum pH for daphnia
Posted 07 February 2005 - 11:13 AM (#1)
Hi, I'm doing a project about how daphnia use changes in pH to detect the levels of carbon dioxide dissolved in their water.
I don't suppose anyone knows the optimum pH for daphnia, as I need a control pH.

Seems to be about neutral (7.0), although I've heard they can handle pH that's a little higher (maybe as high as 8?). Here is one person's research info:

Cheers for the link.
Everywhere i look seems to give me a different pH, but i think i'll just stick to what you said and use pH 7, unless I can find something thaat gives a definate answer.
