White stuff? Sounds like parasites... that's really all I can do to help you just might wanna try some parasite meds.

Good luck to you and your fish.

first of all... fighting bettas is inhumane.

secondly, try draping a cloth over his tank (how big is it?) so that he doesn't see movement outside of his tank that may stress him out.

do you have any airation in the tank? bettas are anabatoids but when they are truely stressed having an airstone in the tank on very low bubble can help them with breathing.

when was the last time you cleaned his tank? what are water parameters?

If his whole body is covered with white fluffy stuff and he jumped out it might his slime coat sloughing off. I raise plakads but mine are all covered but when i was cleaning one day my opaque white female jumped and she got the same thing. Clean water means everything.

Plakad thai fighters arent rare........I got a ton.......lol

Cathy

p.s. Fighting thai fighters is not cruel. They do NOT fight to the death..only till one turns away and their owners grab them up. Most thai's make there ONLY living breeding and fighting plakats. I have many thai friends in thailand qnd their bettas live better then they do.

its true!!!

the thais really respect their pets in general. and fish especially.

i also read that bettas dont fight to the death, but just fight until one backs down.

not all pitbulls fight to the death, and the true 'prize fighters' are kept pretty cushily... until they are put in a ring and allowed to beat the sh*t out of another dog.
