I have five red bellies in my 55 gallon didnt realize there was a live fish gaurantee, was expecting some to die. How long do you think i have before i need to upgrade my tank? They are approximately 3" right now. I'm running one emp 400 filter with lots of plants, two river rocks, a big piece of driftwood, so they have lots of hiding places and housed with two plecos and 3 serpae tetras. Too many fish I know!!!Attached File  fulltankview2.jpg (462.43K)

three has always been a good number when it comes to reds in a 55'er...I say just keep all five of them and let the shoal thin itself out!...You'll be probably lose a couple to cannabalism...

I have 4 reds in my 55. They are about 6" now. I have plenty of filtration and I think my fish are pretty comfortable. Sometimes people exaggerate the size of tanks and how big reds actually get.
