Hi Guys,

I used to post here every once in awhile about 3 years ago. Long story short, when i moved to college my Senior year, i didn't bring enough cycled water when i brought my rbp's with and the rest is history. Live and learn. Anyways, i took a break a bit from the fish tank game but I am back. My 4 Caribe's just arrived today from aquascape, they seem to be doing well and have eaten some salmon and brine shrimp already. I have 4 in a 55g expecting to lose 1 or 2 somewhere along the way.

I decided to plant this tank (bought way too many) but have noticed some of my plant leaves are turning brown. I think it may be my fault, as a result of leaving the light on way too long the past few days. If that is not the problem, is there anything i should be adding to the water? I have some freshwater plant stuff that has some iron and other things in it that i have put in. I would just hate to lose these plants as I spent a lot of money on them. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Happy to be back in the hobby.

welcome back. its tough to tell what the problem could be, there are so many factors like water chemistry, type of substrate, temp, amount of nutrients, and for the picky plants amount of dissolved CO2 in the tank. I had the same problems with my old tank and found out that not adding any supplement was my remedy (but might not work for u) the fish gave enough nutrients so less was more. I later had a snail problem from the plants that was hell to the point that i had to tear everything out and start over. after that i told myself i would never get live plants and am much more happy :wootwoot:
