Hello everyone, I am bummed out. I am moving to Florida and just recently found out that Piranha are illegal. This sucks as I do not wanna lose my fish! Anyone know what the penalties are if someone keeps illegal breeds of fish? Can't give up my Lil' Nippers!
With the Challenge Stradale Ferrari again proposes the very essence of a racing car. Only features that were absolutely essential to the performance and safety were built into the car; the rest were left out

2- Red Belly Piranhas 3"

1- Black/White Banded/Spotted California King Snake

Not illegal unless your caught. Persoanlly I would keep my P's if I were to move to an illegal state. One Im not going to go toss em in a local body of water like the other idoits that made them illegal by doing so. Two whos going to know unless you tell someone. If your not stupid about it you shouldnt have to worry unless you attract the law a lot. Otherwise tell them they are sharp toothed pacus. But ya check the link AKSkirmish posted.

Keep your fish!!! You will miss them if you give them up. Alot of people on this board will try to please Fish and Game by telling you to give them up because you are moving to an illegal state. I say #uck that! I have been in your situation before and know what you are going thru. We need to do more on this site to help hobbyists like you that will suffer because you can't partake in a hobby that you have passion for. Fight on!

I feel for ya, but 10K will buy one big ass tank if you get caught!

If I had a snakehead, I'd hide it in my room for sure!

Fu*k Fish and Game. Think of it this way, when was the last time you had a game warden walking around your room? Just dont go advertising that you've got it and you'll be just fine. I'm always asked at my LFS "what are you feeding" when I buy feeders. Just tell the Cashier "FEEDING?!!?!?!?! Thats cruel, You're Sick" And if you shop there much, no one will ever bother you again and you and your lil fish will be happy. But thats just my 2cents.

Also, it wouldnt hurt to keep your Location on Pfury set to like Missouri, or something where there legal, not saying that wardens go around on here trying to get you cought, but you cant be too careful

I second that - F*ck Fish and Game! There is soooo much major crime(rape. murder, robbery, etc) going on in society today. For the law to be worried(and spending our tax dollars) about what fish people are keeping is beyond me.

Let me tell you something, I live in New york and decided to get red bellies. I contacted DEC and the head marine biologist for my district. I sent letters, e-mails and called numerous times to get a special permit. No one called me back or responded back to me at all. I spent 2 months trying to "do it the right way" and got completely dicked. So I said f*ck it and drove to Vermont and purchased my 5 rb's and drove them home. My point is as long as your not an asshole and introduce them into a habitat such as a lake or pond you should be able to keep them as pets.

Man it is so unlikely that you will get caught! You would have to have a DNR or someone that has power come in and see them. I would definitely keep them. My girls Dad is a County Sheriff and comes into our house and watches my Snakeheads all the time LOL! I told him they were Bowfins and he does not have a clue. He said he wants some when they breed! He is so by the book and dumb about every little rule I will probably give him some so he is doing something illegal! LOLOL!
